About the Floating Book Café

Where the river meets the page — a sanctuary for readers, dreamers, and coffee lovers.

✦ How It Began

A Dream Born on the Water

In 2018, founder Margot Bellamy purchased a century-old riverboat with a vision: to create a space where the slow art of reading could meet the gentle pace of water. After two years of careful restoration, the Floating Book Café opened its gangplank to the world.

Every plank of reclaimed oak, every hand-stitched cushion, and every book on our shelves has been chosen with care. We believe that great stories deserve great settings — and there's no setting quite like a café that drifts with the current.

Today, we welcome thousands of guests each year from around the world, each one finding their own perfect corner to sip, read, and dream.
